Q: What about soft-rock music like Steve Greene and Twila Paris? |
A: ROCK MUSIC IS WRONG.
There is NO way to make that which is wrong – right. You can dilute it, you can disguise it and you can soften it up — but it's still ROCK!Rock music is rock music! Whether it's soft, hard, metal, speed, Christian or grunge!
Highly-respected, Professor Alan Bloom, professor of social thought at the University of
Chicago, who has also taught at Yale, the University of Paris, the University of Toronto,
Cornell and many other schools, writes in his best-selling book, The Closing of the
American Mind: Robert Pattison, who is a lover of rock music, writes in his pro-rock book, The Triumph of Vulgarity:
Secular rock bad girl Lita Ford, says: "Listen, rock'n roll AIN'T CHURCH. It's nasty business. You gotta be nasty too. If you're goody, goody, you can't sing or play it. . ." (Los Angeles Times, August 7, 1988) According to the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 7:18-19, "a corrupt tree [rock music] cannot bring forth good fruit". 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. The Bible clearly teaches we are to discern between holy [Christ] and unholy [rock music]. To "marry" holy Jesus Christ [Christian + Rock] with unholy rock music is obvious spiritual perversion. And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; Christian rock "profanes the Lord". Christian rock shows no difference between the holy and profane. And according to Ezekiel 22:26 — this "profanes the Lord". Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. The word of God declares, You cannot bring forth a clean [Christian] thing from an unclean [rock music]." Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one. Job 14:4 What about a little, soft rock? According to God – just a "little" will corrupt the "whole". ". . . Know ye not that a LITTLE leaven leaveneth the WHOLE lump?" 1 Corinthians 5:6
